Martin Case, chief wharfman for Phillips Petroleum for 20 years, died Friday in Concord. He was 83.
The native of Lemmon, S.D., lived in Oregon before moving to Concord 54 years ago. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Concord and the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers Union.
He is survived by his daughters, Anita Bradley of Ceres and Judy Aitken of Ontario, Canada; sons, James Case of Clayton; Gene Case of Fremont, and Bob and David Case, both of Concord; brother, Harold Case of San Jose; sister, Erma Gutz of Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. His wife, Anna Case, died in 1987, and his sons, Arlen Case in 1955 and Mark Case in 1989.
