Guy Christian, Leonard barber and long time resident here passed away at 4:45 A.M. Thursday, January 5, 1961 at Riser Hospital in Bonham where he had been seriously ill since December 26, 1960.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the First Methodist Church in Leonard. The pastor, Rev Milford Thompson, will officiate, assisted by Rev Bruce Cushman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Leonard, and Rev Bob Cates, Methodist minister at Telephone.
Burial will be made in Leonard Cemetery with Earnheart Funeral Home of Whitewright directing.
Mr. Christian was born August 28, 1902 in Leonard, son of the late Charlie and Annie Christian. He married Miss Velma Blanton November 8, 1925 in Leonard.
He was a member of Leonard First Methodist Church, Leonard Volunteer Fire Department for eighteen years, and Order of Odd Fellow Lodge. He had been a barber since 1929.
Survivors are his wife of the home in Leonard, one brother, J.E. Christian of Paris, two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Weitzel of San Antonio and Miss Marie Christian of Paris.
