Rev. Paul M. Eberts, 73, of 300 Fairview Heights, Lehighton, died Aug. 15 in The Home in Tamaqua Inc., 237 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. He was the husband of Arlene (Drace) Eberts, who died last year.

A graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Lancaster County, and Lancaster Theological Seminary, he served the United Church of Christ for 46 years before retiring in 2001. He was a minister for Solomon's UCC, Macungie; Christ UCC, Elizabethtown, Lancaster County; Emanuels UCC, Bowmanstown; St. Paul's UCC, Big Creek; Jacob's UCC, Weissport; and the Palmerton Parish. He was an interim minister for First Church UCC and St. John's UCC, both of Palmerton, and St. Peter's UCC, Mantzville.

He was president of Partners Together in Ministry; a board of directors member of the Phoebe Home and the Penn Northeast Conference; a member of the Building Your Church for Tomorrow and Franklin Township Planning committees; and a past member of the Elizabethtown Masons.

Survivors: Sons, J. Michael of Lehighton, Dr. Paul of West Chester, Chester County, C. David of Allentown; daughter, Shirley of Lehighton; brother, Joseph W. of Kensington, Md.; sister, Anna Hinkle of Sherman, Texas; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jacob's UCC, Weissport. Arrangements, Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, Weissport.
