Sam Davis Lollar, 76, Clarksville, TN, died of natural causes Tuesday at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN, services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Little Hope Baptist Church, Clarksville, with the Rev. Mike Madewell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and from 8 a.m. until the services Saturday at Neal-Torpley Funeral Home Chapel, Clarksville.
A native of Lancaster TN, he was born July 27, 1921, son of the late Joseph Samuel and Ella Avo Goolsby Lollar. He retired in 1981 from his work as a sales representative for General Foods. For 26 years with his job, he traveled throughout west and middle TN and throughout Kentucky.
He was a member of the Long Table Club, Clarksville, and of Little Hope Baptist Church, where he was involved in singing education and missions.
Survivors include 2 sons, Don Lollar, Atlanta GA, and Ron Lollar, Bartlett TN, a daughter, Martha Lollar Millrany, Collierville, TN, and seven grandchildren.
Expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to Little Hope Baptist Church, 225 Little Hope Road, Clarksville TN, 37043

Sam Lollar was born in Lancaster, TN to Joseph Samuel Lollar and Ella Avo Goolsby.
In 1929 Sam's family moved to Hopkinsville, KY where in 1941 he graduated from high school.
Sam married Elizabeth Ann Haddock and became a radio announcer at WHOP in 1944.
Their children were Donald Joseph, Daniel Ennis, Ronald Wayne, and Martha Lynn, who married James Millrany.
In 1945, Sam moved his family to Jackson, TN and joined WTJS where he later became the program director.
In 1953 Sam joined General Foods as a sales representative.
In 1966 he moved to Clarksville, TN where he retired from General Foods in 1980.
