OBITUARY: Grace M. Reichle, 78, formerly of Cummings and Atchison, died Saturday afternoon, April 21, 1990 at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka. Services will at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Munion officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday at Becker-Stanton Mortuary. Memorials suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Reichle was born Dec. 20, 1911, in Wathena, the daughter of Fred and Allie Engeman. She resided in the Cummings community from 1945 to 1975 when she moved to Atchison. In 1989, she entered Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka. Mrs Reichle was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She and Mrs Ralph C. Reichle were married in October, 1933. He preceded her in death in May, 1980. Also preceding her in death were a son Delbert Reichle, in June, 1976; two sisters Nora Weber, Opal Henry, and two brothers, Charlie Engeman and Clarence Engeman.
Survivors include six daughters, Virginia Nolan, Albany, Ga., Doris Powers and Grace E. Reichle, Topeka, Lois Stallings, Southhaven, Miss., Nancy McCune, Leavenworth, and Sally Friend, Horton; four sons, Virgil Reichle, Leawood, Kenneth Reichle, Atchison, and Ralph Reichle and Steve Reichle, Topeka; two brothers, Walter Engeman, Atchison and Joseph Engeman, Albany, Ore., one sister Ruth Kirkland, Wathena; 30 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.(Src: Atchison Daily Globe, April 22, 1990.)
