Our devoted husband, father and grandfather, Owen Leroy Smith, 82, died January 19, 1997 in Salt Lake City.
Born February 25, 1914 in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada to Harry Raymond and Ann Elizabeth Drollinger Smith. Married Myrle Davis, April 4, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Owen enjoyed hunting and camping. He was a sales representative all his life, owning his own business. Active in the LDS Church, he served two full-time missions with his wife and was a temple worker for many years.
Survived by wife; children, Dianne Hyde; Marjorie (Douglas) Dorton; Raymond O. (Linda) Smith; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death son-in-law, Jay Kent Hyde.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the Monument Park 6th Ward, 1794 So. Texas Street (2430 E.). Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Road, and Thursday, one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
