Lawrence Angus Shepherd was born on a farm south west of Fleming. Son of the late James and Laura Shepherd, Lawrence died October 29, 2011, at Moosomin, SK. Predeceased by his wife Iris Purdon Shepherd in 2007. They were married in 1959.

Lawrence joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in 1943, serving at different places from Winnipeg to BC. In 1944 he was sent overseas, returning home in June 1946.

Burial took place in the Moosomin South Cemetery.
