CLARA MCCOIG
Clara "Buckie" McCoig, 90, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012. She was born April 27, 1921 and resided in Las Vegas since 1947. Clara served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the first nurse anesthist in Las Vegas. She was very active in the community, serving over 30 years as a volunteer at St. Rose de Lima Hospital and was a member of University United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David C. McCoig; and her great-grandson, Sammy. Clara is survived by her two children, Dava and Russell (Sherrie); five grandchildren, Micah, Tavia, Wade, Darin, and Bret; and two great-grandchildren, Max and Kai. There will be a private burial at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
