OBITUARY FOR DERK WILLEM LAMMERS
Derk Lammers was born in Dinsper [Dinxperlo, Gelderland], Holland, Mar 10. 1824. He came to America with his wife and one child about the year 1846, his wife and child dying shortly afterward. He was married again about 1850 to Mrs. Leida Hanvelt and settled in Ashippun, Dodge county [Wisconsin], where on child H. G. Lammers [Henry Gerrit] was born. They moved to Rock Elm in 1864 and settled on the farm where he resided until his death. His wife died Feb. 25, 1890. He was stricken with paralysis May 29th and his death occured June 27th. He leaves one son, three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. He was a member of the Methodist Church for many years before his death.
