Ocala - Lorene P. Hurst Fordham passed away on March 7, 2012 in Bradenton, FL at the age of 92. She was born in Live Oak in 1919, and grew up in Live Oak, Ocala, and Miami, graduating from East Marion School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace F. Hurst and Bessie Wilson Hurst, her husband, John W. Fordham, and five siblings: Connie Williams, Willard Hurst, Hardee Hurst, Leonard Hurst and Margaret Weiss. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Lemanski, son, John Michael Drahucz and wife, Lisa, and grandchildren, Matthew Polly, Alison Rees, Josh Lucas, Jeremy Drahucz and Paloma Rees. She is also survived by siblings, Betty Gilbert of Kissimmee, and Harold Hurst, Ocala, and cousin, Virginia Lee Stokes of Ocala. She leaves many loved nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her generous and loving spirit, beautiful smile, love of nature and gardening, and her compassion for underprivileged children and all animals. A cryptside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 12th at the mausoleum of Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, FL. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services of Ocala is handling arrangements.
