CHAPMAN,JOHN HENRY: Born May 11, 1846, upper part of Spartanburg County.
Enlisted April 28,1863,Co.K, 5th S.C Reg.,Capt. William Choice.
Severely wounded at Fort Harrrison, below Richmond.
"I was in the battle of the Wilderness, Seven Pine, Spottsylvania,Gaines Mills, Gordonville, Malvern Hill, Deep bottom, Fort Harrison, Chickahominy. I was in five Charges at Peterburg at the blow-up. I surrendered at Appamatox on April 9,1865."
