Curtis Preston Mire, 86, a native of Bayou Plaquemine, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Morgan City, La., left this life at Ochsner Foundation Hospital where he was surrounded by his family.
Curtis established The Crankshaft Company in 1958 and became a successful businessman. A member of Atchafalaya Savings & Loan Board of Directors & he also established himself as a founding member of the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette Fieda Mire, sons, Kurt (Lola) and Ross Mire; daughters Julie (Roland) Bourgeois and Marcia (Timothy) Bradley; brother, Jerry Mire; sisters, Ruth Ashley and Joyce Percle; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Mire & Hattie Lang Mire; a sister Jane Schultz and a grandaughter Robbie Lynette.
A time of reflection and rmembrance will be held Wednesday April 27, 2011 from 9:00A.M. until 11:00A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00.
