Alan George Chesebrough, age 73, son of George and Edna Chesebrough was born August 9, 1938 in Dearborn, Michigan. He passed away on March 6, 2012 at the family home.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Connie Anne.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Bucyrus, one son, Matthew Alan Chesebrough of Wichita, KS, one daughter, Tracie Lynn Gammon and husband, Michael of West Plains, two grandchildren, Derek and Autumn Gammon, his brother, Glen Chesebrough of Naples, FL, and two sisters, Ina Bazzy of Dunedin, FL, and Carole Herman of Irving, CA.
Alan grew up in Dearborn, MI graduating from Fordson High School in 1956. He moved to FL where he later met Sandra, and they were married in April 1972. To this union three children were born.
Upon graduation from high school Alan spent time at Ford Motor Company as a die designer before enlisting in the US Navy. Alan received training as an electrician in the navy and was stationed aboard the USS Vulcan, based in Norfolk, VA. After leaving the navy in late 1962 Alan applied his skills as an electrician before becoming a master plumber, carpenter, mechanic, auto body repair specialist, vehicle painter and other endeavors. He was truly not only a "Jack of all trades" but a "master of all". He applied many of his skills when building the family's house in Bucyrus, MO.
Alan loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He especially looked forward to taking summer trips with the grandkids each year until he became too ill to do so. He had a passion for bowling and working with his hands. He created many wooden products for personal and professional use. Throughout his life he held many roles but kept family first, which is a message he passed along to his children. Some of his last words were "I love you all. I lived a good life." Simple sentiments from a man who never said more than needed to be said.
Alan will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
