Born in Germany on 28 June 1888, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Hochmuth. He came to Staunton as a lad with his parents. His first marriage was to Elsie Behnken, who died 17 Nov 1956. On 17 June 1960, he married Mrs. Kate Hochmuth at Nashville, who survives.
During World War I Mr. Hochmuth served with the U. S. Armed Forces. He was a retired coal miner, a member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Marissa; Marissa Post 172, American Legion; Staunton Lodge No. 177, A. F. & A. M., and Marissa Chapter 750, Order of Eastern Star.
