James Milton Quillian, Sr. (1793-1869) was the third son of James Quillian (1757-1858) and Sara Waggoner Quillian (died 1805). He was born May 10, 1793 in North Carolina and died Jan. 1869 in White County, GA. He was married May 18, 1815 in Franklin County GA to Sara Ann Prickett. She was born March 25, 1794 in Franklin County, GA (now part of Habersham Co, GA). Their marriage was performed by his brother Clemond Quillian, Justice of the Peace.

James Quillian was a Methodist minister and member of the North Georgia Methodist Conference (1845-1869). He and his wife Sarah Prickett Qullian are buried in unmarked graves at Mossy Creek Methodist Church in White County, Georgia.

They had seven children. Three of those children, Osborn Phillips Quillian, Fletcher Arnold Quillian, and Asbury Hull Quillian, also became Methodist preachers, along with a number of other Quillian descendants.
