Lloyd R. Decker, age 90, of Canton since May of 2004 and formerly of the East Sparta/ Bolivar area since 1950 and previously of Beallsville, OH passed away Monday, February 7, 2005 in Aultman Hospital, Canton, following a brief illness.
Born June 8, 1914 in Beallsville, OH, to the late, Ora and Myrta (Taylor) Decker. Mr. Decker retired in 1977 from the Timken Co. where he was a welder. He was a member of the Market Avenue Church of Christ, Canton.
Lloyd enjoyed gardening, farming and antique steam engines and also loved to sing bass. Survived by wife to whom he has been married to for the past 66 years, Hazel W. (Book) Decker; three daughters, Marilyn E. (Donald) Hopkins of Canton, Phyllis E. (Lester) Gauding of Ravenna, Beverly J. (H. Ed) Lones of Magnolia; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eva Decker of Beallsville; niece, Carol Warren of Beallsville. Also preceded in death by brother, Clyde Decker; and nephew, Carlos R. Decker.
Services will be held Friday, February 11, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Lebold Funeral Home, 248 Park Ave. SW, Bolivar, OH. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home with Evangelist Keith Kull officiating. Burial in Ft. Laurens Cemetery, Bolivar, OH. Donations in memory of Lloyd R.
