"Wilbur Fisk Adams, 87, a retired Tacoma school teacher, died Friday at his home, 1709 s 7th st. The elderly man, who devoted the greater portion of his life to teaching mathematics in Tacoma Schools, Formerly taught at Franklin and Grant schools and at Jason Lee junior high school. He taught at Grant for more than 30 years, and upon his retirement a tree was planted on the grounds and named in his honor. Adams, a native of Williamstown, Vt., came to Washington territory more than 53 years ago. He made his home in Tacoma for 45 years. He was married in 1906 and his wife, Mrs. Martha Adams, died in 1925. Private funeral services for Adams, who was a member of the I. O. O. F. and the First Presbyterian church, will be held Monday from the Buckley-King chapel, with Rev. J. Renwick McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Tacoma cemetary. The family requests friends to omit flowers. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Polly Adams Williams of the home; a sister, Miss emma Adams of Williamstown, and a grandson, Wilbur Patrick Williams of Tacoma."
