"She was born Dec 17, 1887, in Manhattan, Kan., to Hile and Emma Browning Rannalls. She was a 1907 graduate of Kansas State University. In 1910, she and Ernest Adams were married, coming to California in 1912. Her husband was instrumental in development of the rice industry.
"An avid gardener and active in conservation causes, Mrs. Adams contributed generously for the preservation of coastal redwoods in California, native prairie grasses in Kansas, native habitats in Arizona and other charitable causes.
