Lieut. Joseph was the son of JOSEPH PECK & ALICE (HEATH) BURWELL PECK, my immigrant ancestors. He was baptized at Milford First Church on March 29, 1662/1663.

Feb. 8, 1702/3 Ens. Joseph Peck's name appears on an "Indian Deed to the Proprietors of New Milford", as part of a committee of seven Milford men that purchased the land for the plantation of New Milford.
p.14 March, 1708 Ens. Joseph Peck, Samuel Clarke, Jr. & Jonathan Law are appointed a committee to meet with Stratford men who claim part of the New Milford land.
Joseph, Jr. was prominent in civic affairs and in the colonial militia, in which he served as lieutenant from the time of receiving his commission until 1709.
On 27 Jan 1678 in Milford, he married (1) MARY CAMP, daughter of NICHOLAS , JR. & SARAH (BEARD) CAMP, also prominent founders of Milford, Conn.
Lieut. Joseph & Mary were the parents of 11 known chldren, one of which was my ancestor, SAMUEL PECK, a Captain in the Revolutionary War.
