~MY ANCESTOR~
He was born August 19th, 1714 to JOSEPH & SARAH (THOMPSON) BIRDSEY, receiving his degree at Yale College in 1736, was settled as a minister at West Haven in 1743. After he left West Haven he continued to preach occasionally for many years. Once in particular, when he was over a hundred years old, he officiated in the pulpit in Stratford. He married DOROTHY HAWLEY on Apr 17, 1739, and they were the parents of 12 children. One of their children, HELEN (BIRDEYE) PECK, was my ancestor.
