Margaret S. Patterson, 85, of North Syracuse, since 1953, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Tiffin, OH, she had wintered, in retirement, in Panama City Beach, FL. In 1985, she retired from the Bursar's Office of Le Moyne College. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima, a poll watcher and elections inspector, an avid bridge player, an excellent seamstress, knitter and reader. Margaret was a positive, upbeat person who enjoyed life and particularly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Bess Schauder; her sister, Miriam Roof and on July 14, 2001, by her husband, John D. Patterson. Surviving are her children, Ruth (James) Shirley of Baldwinsville, Kathleen (David) Fuller of Jensen Beach, FL, John Michael Patterson of North Syracuse and Eileen (Stephen) Snook of LaGrangeville, NY; her siblings, Edward Schauder, Norma Riepenhoff, Chuck (Mertie) Schauder and brother-in-law, Floyd Roof all of Ohio; five grandchildren, Rachel (Andrew) Lacourciere, Louis Shirley, Cheri Fuller, Michael Snook and Nicole Snook; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Belmont, Jacques Lacourciere and Katerine Lacourciere and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday, at 9:30 a.m. at Fergerson Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse with burial following in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse.
