Earl Isaac was the fifth child born of six children to Samuel Joseph and Mary Elizziebeth Whitworth Sebree. He was born in Douglas County, Missouri. His mother died when he was only four years old. His baby sister, Ona, went to live with their grandmother, Martha Ann Whitworth, while his father, with the help of the older siblings, cared for the younger ones.
He only finished the third grade and moved to Kansas City, when his father remarried. Earl began doing old jobs to earn his own money and later moved in with his sister Ethel and her husband.
Earl married Lucile Devier on August 16, 1947 in Harrisonville, Cass County, Missouri. A daughter, Earleen Lou was born in 1949.
Earl held the office of Jackson County, Constable of the 5th District for two terms. In 1958 he ran for Jackson County Sheriff, but was defeated.
The family moved to Columbia, Boone County, Missouri in 1959 to the farm where his wife was born and raised.
He soon went to work as a Deputy Sheriff until he decided to run for Boone County Sheriff in 1964. Again, he was defeated, partly because of poor health.
Soon after the campaign the doctor found cancer of the throat. During the following four years Earl underwent
several major surgeries. He fought a hard battle, but lost, in 1968.
Earl never met a stranger, he would help anyone in need.
He had a kind heart and loving spirit as well as a fantastic sense of humor.
He loved to fish and hunt and did so as often as he could.
He also loved the farm. He put his heart and soul into remodeling the old homestead.
I am happy to say I am proud to be his daughter. He was the best dad a girl could want.
