Lloyd Karl Zimmermann, 72, of Karnes City, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, in Corpus Christi.

He was born on April 14, 1938, to Otto and Laura Zimmermann in Ecleto. He attended school in Gillett and graduated from Karnes City High School. He married Grace Kerlick on Nov. 14, 1959. He worked at the Ahrens Gin and Mill, retired from the Karnes Electric Co-op after 32 years of employment, and was a farmer and rancher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Clifton Zimmermann and William Zimmermann; and his sister, Ruby Hibdon.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Kerlick Zimmermann of Karnes City; his sons, David Zimmermann and wife Judith of Pawelekville, Russell Zimmermann of Karnes City, and Steven Zimmermann and wife Patty of Bastrop; his brother, Marvin Zimmermann of Karnes City; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Nicole Schaefer, Courtney and Gerad Lenhart, Allison Zimmermann, Jessica Zimmermann, Blake Zimmermann, Dustin Zimmermann, Ashley Zimmermann, Kalla Zimmermann, and Zane Zimmermann; his great-grandchild, Thomas Sefcik; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received visitors on Friday, Jan. 14, from 4-8 p.m. in the Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Karnes City with Pastor David Collins officiating.

Interment followed in the Karnes City Cemetery in Karnes City.

Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Zimmermann, Carey Zimmermann, Gerad Lenhart, Blake Zimmermann, Dustin Reynolds, and Marvin Zimmermann Jr.
