Samuel L. McGraw was a farmer, the son of Beniah McGraw & Elizabeth "Betsy" (Shaver or Shaw) McGraw. He married Delilah Burnside on December 21, 1854, in Meigs County, Ohio.

*Note: Samuel's handwritten death certificate states he died 7 Jun 1916 and was buried 10 Jun 1916 in Plants Cemetery. Samuel's typewritten Ohio Soldier's Grave Registration Card states he died 7 Jun 1914 and was buried 10 Jun 1914 in Fairview Cemetery.

Also note Samuel's death certificate lists his parents as Benjamin McGraw and Elizabeth Taylor. All other records list his father as Beniah McGraw. Beniah's marriage record lists Elizabeth Shaw in one area and Elizabeth Shaver in another area.
