Amy Jane was born in Elizabethtown (now Brockville), Ontario to David and Hulda (Mallory) Seaman. She married Allison Burley in 1853. Amy tragically died in a house fire, at 40 years of age, leaving her husband, Allison to contend with the hardships of a pioneer life with nine children.
