Rubin H. Barnes, passed away on December 12, 2002.
He was born on December 24, 1928 in Grant County on the farm. He lived on that farm his entire life.
Rubin graduated from Sheridan High School in 1947. After finishing high school, he lived and worked in Oregon, returning to Arkansas in 1953. In 1954, he married Martha Johnson, and they made their home in Grant County. Rubin worked for Williams Flooring Mill and the Grant County Road Department, retiring in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Idus H. Barnes and Zelma Octavia Fielding-Barnes.
Rubin is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Barnes; his daughters, Janna Clark (Michael) and Ann Hill (Danny) of Sheridan; and a son, Ross Barnes (Vicky) of Sheridan; his grandchildren: Nikki Petty (Eric), Trenton Barnes, and Clayton Barnes; his great-grandchild, Elizabeth Petty; three sisters: Margaret Turnbow (Si), Betty Brown (Dalton), and Rachel Stiefel (David); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
