Rachel E. Robison was the daughter of John R. Robison and Mary Edmiston Robison of Madison County, Ohio. She had several brothers and sisters. She married (1st) Samuel Rowlen in Madison county, Ohio; he died during the Civil War; and (2nd) James H. Wilson, a widower from Fayette County, Ohio. The Wilson family moved to Champaign County, Illinois about 1867. Children: (from 1st marriage): John Robison Rowlen; (from 2nd marriage): Mary Catherine "Kate" Wilson (married Stephen A. Romine). Rachel had also several step-children.

John Robison Rowlen is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery located in the village of Watseka in Iroquois County, Illinois.
