Mr. Davenport is survived by the love of his life, Gayle; two daughters, Kelly Rock (Bill) of Huntsville, and Kendall Hoffman (Dean) of Birmingham; four grandsons, Barrett and Zachary Rock, Jake and Cade Hoffman; two brothers, Jim and Larry Wayne; two sisters, Patricia and Reba.
Leonard was a fun loving and high spirited man who loved his family and friends dearly. He took great pride in his two daughters and four grandchildren; they meant the world to him. At 17, he joined the U. S. Navy and traveled the world. Afterward he returned to Birmingham where he worked and eventually retired from Connors Steel. As a young man he played all sports and was a coach and umpire in his community. Later he enjoyed many golf outings with family and friends and the luck of the draw. Leonard was a die hard Alabama football fan. He will be greatly missed by all. A special thank you to Lucille Strong for loving and caring for our sweet dad.
Visitation will be held at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL on Wednesday March 14th from 12 pm until 2 pm, with a graveside service immediately following at Maple Hill Cemetery.
