Edward Michael "Eddie Mike" Matus, 49, of Vandergrift, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 4, 1956, in Kittanning, to Edward and Coralee (Fichthorn) Matus.
Mr. Matus was a professor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.He was the former owner and operator of the Office and Sergeant Pepper's Bar in Ford City.
An Army veteran, he was a member of the 25th Infantry.
He loved his family first.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He loved hunting, fishing, boating, Hawaii and "being on the mountain." He enjoyed his Harley Davidson. He was a life long resident of his community.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Marie "Kik" (Maus) Matus, whom he married Sept. 1, 1979; one daughter, Ali Rae Matus; his father, of Ford City; one sister, Kori Russo and husband, Steve, of Kittanning; and two nephews, Dominic Russo and Nicholas Russo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, who died Dec. 23, 2004.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Edward Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Ford City Cemetery.
