William Herbert Burchett, 72, of Tracy died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Burchett was a native of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He lived in Tracy 59 years. He had retired after a 28-year career as a forklift operator at Tracy Depot. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Burchett of Tracy; children, Dianna Feightner and C.C. Burchett, both of Oroville, John Burchett of Great Lakes, N.J., Sam Burchett of Gold Hill, Ore., and Janie Hale and Lemoyne Burchett, both of Tracy; brothers, Clifton Burchett, Cecil Burchett, both of Tracy, Harold Burchett of Columbus, Ohio, and Bill Burchett of Tahlequah; sisters, Frances Carr of Hemet and Neomia Mallory of Tracy; and 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hotchkiss Mortuary.

Burial will be at Tracy Public Cemetery.
