Funeral services for Rissie Jones, 73 years of age, were held Thursday, November 8 at 2 p.m. from the Mt. Zion Church of God with the Rev. Jess Campbell, Rev. Bob Frick and Rev. C. L. Flannagan in charge of the service. Burial was in Christie's Chapel Cemetery. The pallbearers were Dan Jones, Rufus Jones, Sam Jones, Wayne Goode, Roy Wethington, and Welby Chelf. Miss Jones, daughter of John Wesley and Unity Benningfield Jones, was born January 27, 1878 in Taylor County, Ky. She died Tuesday, November 6 at the home of her niece, Mrs. Wayne Goode, at Casey Creek in Adair County. She had been in ill health for some time. She professed faith in Christ many years ago and was a faithful member to her church. Her parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by several nieces and nephews: Wesley Jones of Ringstead, Iowa; Luster Christie of St. Petersburg, Ill.; Guy Jones of Knifley; Mrs. Zelma Conley, Mrs. Nettie White, Mrs. Mary Loyde Harrispn, Dan, Sam, Vance and Rufus Jones, and Mrs. Lettie Bright, all of Louisville; Mrs. Mayme Bright of Yuma; Mrs. Dorothy Kilby of Taylor County; and Mrs. Ina Goode of Casey Creek. For several years she lived in Anderson, Indiana, but for the past seven years she made her home with her niece, Ina and Wayne Goode of Casey Creek.
