Charles Edward "Buddy" Bledsoe, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edward "Buddy" Bledsoe, Jr., age 79, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 in the chapel of Englewood Baptist Church, with Bro. Ben Mandrell, Dr. Philip Jett, Ref. A.W. Jones, Dr. Paul Williams, Rev. Larry Murphy and Dr. Brent Lay officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bledsoe died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Charles Edward Bledsoe, Sr. and Dora Mae King Bledsoe. He attended Jackson City Schools, Lambuth College and graduated from the former Memphis State University. He was a former member of First Baptist Church, where he was a Training Union Leader, an usher and greeter. Mr. Bledsoe was presently a member of Englewood Baptist Church, where he was an usher and greeter. He was co-owner of Mutual Market and upon the passing of his father, was self-employed for 40 years.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dale King Bledsoe.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Bledsoe of Jackson, whom he married on September 2, 1972; a son, A.W. Jones (Kathy) of Guadalajara, MX; his daughters, Stacy Raines (Walter) of Jackson and Sandra Baker of Memphis; his brothers, Sam Cogdell (Rosemary) and Mike Bledsoe (Sandra), all of Jackson, and John Paul Bledsoe (Jenny) of Memphis; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests any memorials be made in the charity of your choice .

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the chapel of the church on Thursday.
