Isaac and a partner, made an overland trip by ox-wagon to California in the gold rush days in 1850. But failed any appreciable success in the gold fields. Isaac came home, but his partner stayed and opened a business.
He married Elizabeth Jane Sample b. 1844, on Jan. 21st, 1866 in Greene, Trumbull Co. OH. She died Sept. 2nd, 1922.
Children: Emory Liewellyn Dial was b. Nov. 26th, 1866.
Nellie Irene Dial was b. Nov. 21st, 1870.
Isaac died of a heat stroke on July 4th,1874 while making mail deliveries on his rural route. He never came back to town so people went out to look for him. His wife was pregnant and Brant Ray Dial was born Dec. 16th, 1874.
His wife remarried to Henry J. Reel on Jan. 1, 1877 but divorced after 1880, retaining the surname of Dial.
