Father of Cecilia and Mollie
I've been told that after William's first wife passed away he needed to leave his daughter Cecilia with a family in Center (now known as Rush Center) up the road from the farmstead. Through this family he became acquainted and married Hettie.
As for the girls; William is said to have prohibited his daughters from dating or marrying. Both girls apparently remained living in their parents home into their 30s. Mollie is listed as a 39 yo spinster still living with her father and mother in the 1930 census when they lived in Center, Rush County, Kansas. The girls did date and marry after his death.
