DUHRING — Allen Berton Dale of Duhring, W.Va. died March 12, 2012, in Asheboro, N.C. at the age of 81.

Allen was born in Switchback, W.Va. to the late Mary Marchant Dale and the late Samuel Dale. He had retired from the N&W Railway after 43 years of service. He was a member of Duhring Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Timothy Allen Dale; and sisters, Beulah Tote and Nancy McBride.

Allen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet Dillon Dale, of the home; and his daughter, Terry Belcher and husband, Carl of Chapel Hill, N.C.; sister Mildred Szmurlo of Slinger, Wis.; brother Jerry Dale and wife, Wanda of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Timothy Brian Dale and wife, Kristy of Morrisville, N.C., Sara Dale, and Heather Belcher of Durham, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Ian and Emma Dale; Aunt Lacy Hart of Bluefield; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Chapel, with John Tote III officiating. Kenny Kirby will provide the special music for the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Brian Dale, Walter Goins, Rick Helmandollar, Kenny Kirby, Kenny Sawyers, and Carl Belcher. Honorary pallbearer will be Willard Horton.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 14th, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
