Funeral Mass for Barbra Jean Sears was held December 23 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur. Rev. Jim Kramper officiated, and Dot Connealy was organist. The rosary was December 22 at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral home in Tekamah. She died December 20, 2002, at her home in Decatur, at the age of 71. Barbra was born December 19, 1931, in Omaha to Clifford A. and Nettie (Moorhead) Adams. She graduated from Tech High School in Omaha in 1949. On September 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Willis Kurtz Sears at St. Peter's Catholic church in Omaha. They lived in Decatur where she owned and operated Hungry's Steakhouse for 25 years. Mrs. Sears was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. Her parents and a granddaughter, Amanda Pulkrabek, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband: sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Debbie Sears of Dakota City, Tim Sears and Pat and Brenda Sears, all of Decatur; Daughters and son-in-law, Cathy Sears of Wakefield and Jackie and Matt Worley of Decatur; brother Charles Adams of Westminster, MD; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur. Casket bearers were Tim Sears, Pat Sears, Jeremiah Sears, Cole Worley, Adam Sears, and Clinton Clemon. Honorary bearers were Harold and Donna Palmer, Georgia Redding, Sheila Hampton, and Jim Taylor
