George W. Acker

George W. Age 84 of Catalpa Dr., Horseheads, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2003. His surviving family included his wife, Rita (Dotts) Acker; daughters, Sandra (Jon) Scott of Rohrersville, MD, Joyce (Jack) Tice of Boise, ID, Sharon (Robert) Sipka of Virginia Beach, VA, Connie (Jerry) Zingsheim of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Melvin (Sharon) Acker of Horseheads; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. George was a life long Horseheads resident. He was retired from the Town of Veteran Highway Dept. in 1982. In his leisure, George and his wife enjoyed the social membership of the American Legion and belonged to the senior bowling and citizen groups. Friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, Wednesday, October 29, 2003, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. His service will follow there at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 p.m.; the Rev. Larry Parker will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads. Those wishing may express their sympathy to Full Gospel Church of Catlin, 683 Backer Road, Beaver Dams, NY 14812.
