She was born May 31, 1919, in Franklin County to James Isaac Hollandsworth and Minnie Gibson Hollandsworth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Woody Thomas Gardner; three sons, Cecil Thomas Gardner, Larry Keith Gardner and Maurice Lee Gardner; three sisters, Eula H. Cannaday, Lolene H. Holley and Louise H. Arrington; and two brothers, Seth Hollandsworth and Curtis Hollandsworth.
She attended Clearview Baptist Church in Martinsville.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Gardner of Collinsville; two sons, Eddie Glen Gardner and Ronald "Ron" James Gardner, both of Snow Creek; a sister, Goldie H. Martin of Collinsville; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Clearview Baptist Church with Pastors Francis Martin, Jyrone Denny and Ronald "Ron" James Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville and other times at the home of Susan Gardner, 2747 Snow Creek Road, Martinsville.
