Aunt Bessie was one of the lovliest Christian ladies I have ever known. When we left her funeral service, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that Aunt Bessie was in the presence of her Lord and Saviour.

Aunt Bessie had a hard life. Her mother died when she was young, so she went to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Mattie Jane Hughes & Artist Ingram Cook. She married Jack Folmar and together, they had one son, Harold Keith. Harold Keith was injured in a highway crew accident and remained in bad condition for several years. She loved Harold Keith with all her being.

Aunt Bessie never had anything bad to say about anyone. She was such a sweet person. She and Mattie (her sister) favored quite a bit and loved each other tremendously.

Bessie and Mattie were daughters of John Wilkes Hughes and Sarah Fannie Lee. Both were born in Louisiana.
