Harold V. Anderson, 65, retired Muncie teacher, died Saturday morning at his home in Epworth Forest, North Webster. He had been in ill health for some time but his death came unexpectedly.
He was born on a farm near Noblesville, and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1921. He graduated from Ball State in 1929 and received his Master's in Education at Indiana University in 1940.
Mr. Anderson was an educator for 44 years and was the first principal at Sutton Elementary School. Earlier he was assistant principal and dean of boys at Central High School, principal and teacher at Riley Elementary School, math teacher and guidance counselor at Wilson Junior High School and math and science teacher at McKinley Junior High School. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Muncie Kiwanis, Moose Ldoge 33, and many educational organizations.
Services will be held in Meeks Mortuary at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Dr. Donald Bailey, pastor of High Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
