Obituary Ida Fay Maxwell-Woods.
Mrs. Ida Maxwell Woods, 91 of Center died 9 a.m. Saturday, in the Holiday Lodge Nursing Home, following surgery two weeks ago on a broken hip.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday in the Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. J. Carroll Chadwick officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery. A native and life long resident of Center, she was honored in January on her 91st birthday by the Center High School.
Her parents were Dr. H.H. and Adelaide Drake Maxwell. Dr Maxwell was Center's first dentist. She and her family had resided on Shelbyville Street most of their lives. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors are four sons, Julius B. Woods of Kermit, Texas, LL (Tobe) Woods, of Auburn, California, William F. (Bill) Woods of Scottsdale, Arizona, Marcey Maxie Woods of White City, Oregon, five grandchildren, (one of whom is Mrs. Glenda Woods Wagstaff, with whom Mrs. Woods made her home a numbers of years) and nine great grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Gene Bryan, Ples Ham, F.L. Moffett, L.G. Ballard, Lewis brown and Tommy Chambliss.
