Services for Joseph Bane, 46, of 1611 N. Billen, will be at 4 pm Monday, in the Smith & Kernke Funeral Chapel with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. He died of a heart attack at his home Saturday. Born in Fairview, West Virginia, Bane had come to Oklahoma City in 1941 while in the air force (the US Army Air Forces). He lost both legs as the result of injuries during his wartime service and had been confined to a wheelchair the past two years. He was a Master Sergeant while in the military, specializing in aircraft mechanics and instrument repair.
