OBITUARY.
William Augustus Mangold was born in Jefferson Co. Kansas Dec. 26th 1879 and departed this life Feb. 15th inst. at the home of his sister Mrs. J. S. Orr. He suffered a broken arm, the result of an accident while playing "hide and seek" on Jan. 9th ult. On the 23rd of last month he fell a victim of la grippe with which he suffered till released by death.
On Tuesday many friends accompanied the remains to the M. E. church, where his teacher and classmates and several other friends of the deceased had assembled for the funeral services.
The department of the public school, of which he was a member, opened the services with a song entitled: "My Heavenly Home," which was rendered with ability and tenderness. The balance of the services consisted of appropriate music and an explanation of Luke 12:35-40 with appealing exhortions by the writer.
The remains were interred in the R. P. cemetery.
