Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 19, 2012 in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery with Terry Beard officiating. Services under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Lionel was born Friday, July 19, 1946 in Oklahoma City, to Ralph Beard Sr.and Ruby (Randolph) Beard. Lionel graduated from Rush Springs High School and lived most of his life in the Oklahoma City area. After high school, Lionel joined the US Marines. He worked at the VA Hospital as Chief of Police for over 22 years. Lionel enjoyed working on cars, playing softball, traveling and playing chess. He loved working and spending time outdoors.

two daughters, Pree Presley and husband Steven of Little Elm, TX, and Angeleigh Haselwood and husband Brian of Oklahoma City,
grandchildren, Gabriel Mason Presley, William Levi Beard, Eris Korynne Haselwood,
two brothers, Terry Beard and wife Kathy and Ralph Beard and wife Mayme all of Rush Springs,
sister, Renee Jones of Rush Springs,
several nieces and nephews.
