Frank Plumbe Howell, Sr. , 67 , died Wednesday morning at the local hospital after a heart attack.
A native of Tarboro, Edgecombe County, NC and a son to B.G. Howell and Sophie Boyle Howell.
A former Waycross City Mayor in 1928 and City Commissioner (1928-1931) and had served as chairman of the board of deacons. He was a Superintendent of Motive Power for the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and had retired from active railroad service two years ago. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waycross.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at the residence of Mr. Howell with the Rev. A.G. McInnis, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church following burial into Oakland Cemetery.
