George Henry Abbott Harris was born 7 December 1830 in Ilfracombe, Devonshire, England son of James Harris, Jr. and Elizabeth Rawlings. He arrived in Utah in 1852. Settled in the Lehi and Pleasant Grover area, later moved to Idaho for sometime. He had three wives. Annie Elizabeth Burraston, Mariah Loader and Sarah Loader. Had 13 children. He was well known for his hand writing and love of poetry. A business man and a farmer. He died in Salem, Madison, Idaho on 3 April 1919 and was buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Utah.
