NEW WATERFORD - Mrs. Barbara A. Jenkins, 83, of New Waterford, passed away early Friday morning, March 9, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Jenkins was born July 3, 1928 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Arnold and Lois Guthridge Ambjurnsen and had lived in New Waterford since 1973; prior to that time, she had resided in Youngstown. She had been employed at the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company for twenty years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Hubbard and had been a member of various garden clubs over the years, including Gleaner's Garden Club of Youngstown.
Her husband, Earl Jenkins, whom she married June 20, 1970, preceded her in death on June 27, 2003.
Mrs. Jenkins's family would like to extend their appreciation to Chris Jackson for her support as a caregiver for these past several months.
Private services will be held at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine. Entombment will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
