He was born March 30, 1931, in Titusville, Pa., the son of William B. and Irene R. Reed Bearce.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School and served with the U.S. Marines from 1949 to 1952. He was employed as a machinist with Erie Forge and Steel for 39 years, retiring in 1994. He served as Ripley Town Constable and a Chautauqua County Sheriff from 1974 to 1987. He was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church. He served as a member of the Ripley Town Board, was a life member of the Ripley Hose Co. 1 and served as it bingo inspector.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed hunting and bowling with the Ripley Merchants Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife whom he married June 25, 1960; four sons, three daughters, 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kip Scott Bearce on Oct. 17, 2001; two brothers, Richard Bearce on Nov. 6, 1999, ad Russell Bearce on Jan. 31, 1992; and a sister, Barbara Mowery on Dec. 25, 2003.
