On February 29th, 2012, Janet Elaine Loftis left this world to be with her Heavenly Father. She passed peacefully in her sleep at 11:45 p.m. in her home with her husband and daughter.

Janet Elaine Claybaker was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on December 14, 1959, to Max and Dorothy Claybaker. She was the third of five children and the second daughter. Janet attended Blackwell Public Schools all her life, graduating in 1978. She then furthered her education at Oklahoma State University.

On May 24, 1981, Janet married the love of her life and best friend, Mike Loftis. The couple had three children: Steven Michael, Lauren Michelle, and Bryan James. The family attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell and First Lutheran Church in Ponca City.

During her life she worked for the Security Bank and Trust, Loftis Insurance Agency and Loftis and Wetzel Insurance Agency in client services.

Among the things Janet loved were first and foremost, her family and children. She was a wonderful mother and a devoted wife. She also loved Oklahoma State athletics and attended both football and basketball games on a regular basis.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Blackwell Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Blackwell and the Blackwell Public School Foundation where she served as president.

Janet is survived by her husband, Mike of the home; her three children; Steven, 27, Lauren, 23, and Bryan, 21, all of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her parents, Max and Dorothy Claybaker of Blackwell; her sister, Lynn Franzman of Stillwater; two brothers, Kendall Claybaker of Stillwater and Stan Claybaker of Blackwell; and three nephews; Kameron Claybaker, of Stillwater and Trenton and Dylan Claybaker, of Blackwell.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Neal Claybaker.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 5th in the First Lutheran Church in Ponca City with Rev. Tom Ramsey and Rev. Michael Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Serving as casketbearers will be Bruce Dale, Ross Cline, David Ward, Larry Riseling, Mike Buesing and Mark Cordell. Honorary casketbearers will be her co-workers at Loftis and Wetzel Insurance Agency.
