Altus Lahoma Patton was born on September 16, 1923, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, to Henry Clay and Inez (Hooper) Higgins. She married Willard Smith on April 14, 1965 and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1980. She married William "Bill" Lawrence Patton on June 25, 1984, in Miami, Oklahoma. She enjoyed the outdoors, taking her children camping and water skiing when she was younger. Her hobbies included china painting, quilting, embroidering, crocheting and sewing. Altus and Bill enjoyed spending winters in the Rio Grande Valley for ten years. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Pioneer Area Quilters Guild and First Baptist Church of Blackwell.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Patton of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two sons, Otis Dwight Blackburn of Mannford, Oklahoma and Dee Higgins Blackburn of Nardin, Oklahoma; a daughter, Pamala Renee Wornkey of Ellinwood, Kansas; one sister, Hazel Koenche of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Glendon Sanders of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Honorary casketbearer will be Tim Wornkey.
